- High efficiency AC w/gas heating (2 Trane XL16i Units, installed September 2011 byLonghorn HVAC)
- Dense foam insulation in walls and inside roof, along with replacement of doors and windows with modern, energy efficient units, created a very tight energy “wrap” around living areas.
- Most lighting has been replaced with CFL. In process of replacing with LED lighting.

When we decided to rebuild, we wanted to create a more energy efficient home to reduce energy bills, do our part to lower energy use and air emissions, and create a more comfortable environment to live. Energy efficiency and renewable energy allows you to do all the above, and lower your overall cost in the long run. We have been very pleased with the performance of the solar panels and the more even temperatures across the entire home. It is very easy to control the temperature of the entire house with no drafts or hot/cold spots.
