My main goal for going solar was to go green as much as possible and going solar and using Green Mountain Energy made a nice combination. There have been months where I've had negative costs and because of Green Mtn I've had credits applied. And of course saving money is everyone’s goal and to this point I've saved 72% on my electric bill. I also donate an additional $5.00 to the sun club so they can donate solar to many organizations.

I chose Solar City after checking about 8 other companies. Several of which I eliminated for not having a BBB rating. After comparing buying and leasing I opted for leasing for 20 years. The cost up front was reasonable and all maintenance will be performed at no cost by SolarCity. I had to give up the tax refund of course but it's worth it. And since GME pays back for the solar I produce at about the same amount I pay for grid access, it's a no brainer. I keep a month to month accounting and breakdown which I've made a copy for visitors to see. It is very convincing for going solar. I feel the solar and what it saves is a great boost for selling a home and with the experience I've had so far, I highly recommend it.
